Live Nation: Live Nation is a live events company based in Beverly Hills, California-based concert promotions. Live Nation formed in 2005 as a spin-off of Clear Channel Communications, which later merged with Ticketmaster in 2010 to become Live Nation Entertainment.

Live Nation "signs" artist as a "label" but is primarily the role of a promoter rather than "owner of the music." The contract with U2 and Madonna, for example does not include copyrighted recordings artists to come. The agreement signed in 2007 with Jay-Z does include future recordings of the rapper. In 2008, Live Nation has signed Colombian singer Shakira and Canadian band Nickelback.
